I've decided that I need to keep a better record of my children's lives otherwise they will be all grown up before I blink. So, we have started this blog "My Sweet Cacoozies". So, what is a "Cacoozie"? Well, this is a term that Michael used a couple of days ago to describe the stage when a caterpillar changes into a butterfly and it stuck. So, welcome to My Sweet Cacoozies!

Huntington Beach Duck-A-Thon

Last weekend we went down to Huntington Beach for their Annual Duck-A-Thon. Since we had never been to this event, and didn't know much about it we had very low expectations. That was probably a good thing, because in the end we ended up having a great time.

(No, we don't know who the little girl in the middle is . . . she just decided to join our picture)

First we parked in one of the parking structures (probably the most expensive part of the excursion) and headed over to the Duck-A-Thon area . . . but, Emily saw the beach and wanted to go there first, so we did.

Emily loves everything about the beach, the sand, the water, the sun, the people . . .

Michael hates the water and will play in the sand if he has to . . . but just don't let the sand stay on his skin too long . . . he doesn't like that.

Our friends the Jenkins came and joined us!!

We walked around the booths, at our sack lunches and then it was time for the Duck Drop! The took all of the ducks people had purchased, put them in two front loaders, drove them to the end of the pier and dumped them into the ocean.

We did purchase a duck, but we were so tired by the time the ducks dropped we didn't want to wait around for two hours to reclaim our duck. We still haven't claimed ours yet. I'm sure Emily will forever remember this event and remember that we didn't reclaim her favorite duck in the whole world . . . "Princess".
