Then we went to a pumpkin patch that someone said was REALLY good. And it was good, but it was an hour away and on the way I passed at least two other BIG PUMPKIN PATCHES with bounce houses that probably would have been better, cheaper, and closer. Que Sera, Sera. Here are the pictures.

So, we looked at pumpkins. They had white ones, and red ones, and standard orange ones. We didn't end up buy one at the patch though. We bought ours at Fresh and Easy 2 for $5.

They also had pig races.

They had a corn maze. Initially, it started out really predictable, but in the end it turned out to be pretty good.

They had a train ride. Unfortunately, it just went around the corn maze.

They had a petting zoo. Unfortunately, the animals were really used to the "procedure" . . . maybe a little too used to it.

But they did have this really cool turkey. I'd never see a turkey that close before and it was really soft.

And of course my kids found a bug . . . they love bugs.

We carved our Fresh & Easy Pumpkins

My kids thought the inside of the pumpkin was really GROSS. They wouldn't touch the guts because they were too slimy. I eventually grabbed a handful and touched each of their faces with it which made them both run away screaming to the bathroom to wash up.

Emily did finally get talked into getting cleaning out her pumpkin.

Michael was so nice to let me do his entire pumpkin (except drawing the face on the pumpkin).

Emily did a great job. She did almost her entire pumpkin by herself.

Here is the finished product.
And in closing, I must say . . . I LOVE the new pumpkin carving tools. I hadn't really carved pumpkins with the kids before because I just remember how hard it was as a kid and what a mess we made. But the new tools make it really easy. I may have to even go out and buy my own pumpkin so that I can do one of the cool designs :).
